Tom’s Pawn is a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the community since 1972. The father and son team of Tom and Dennis Garrett started their journey by opening Tom’s Pawn in Clute, which now has four locations in Lake Jackson, Angleton, Brazoria, and Clute.
In December 2006, Dennis, along with his wife Paula and their son Brian, expanded their business by opening a fourth location in Brazoria.
In December 2004, Brian Garrett assumed the role of Vice President in the company. Brian is a graduate of Angleton High School and earned a degree in Business Management from Sam Houston State University. He married Shellie in 2001, and today, Brian and his dedicated team are passionate about helping others and continuing the legacy started by his parents.
Tom’s Sport Shop originates from being in the pawn business for over 5 decades. With 4 pawnshops in the area, I notice customers coming in and showing interest in guns. What strikes me is that many customers only visit 2 locations during a day of shopping. This inspires the idea of creating a dedicated room exclusively for guns and ammo to make it easier for the customer to find what they are looking for.
This private room offers a wide selection of handguns and long guns, totaling in the hundreds. We showcase the firearms with modern displays, securely attached to the wall for easy access. There is no need to ask a sales representative to show you the guns up close. With hundreds of preowned firearms available in one location, Tom’s Sport Shop offers the largest selection of both preowned and new firearms in Brazoria County (as far as I know).
